Dental Implants Cost in Mexico vs the US

Michael Seutin Written by Michael Seutin, founder — former nurse, researching dental pricing abroad.

A single dental implant runs $3,000–$5,500 in the United States. In Los Algodones, Mexico — the border town nicknamed "Molar City" — the same work costs a fraction of that, and the gap is labor and overhead rather than the implant: clinics here place the same Straumann, Nobel and Osstem systems US offices use. The Mexican figures below are read from our clinics' own published price lists at the moment you load this page, with the number of clinics behind each one. Always confirm with a written quote for your case.

common questions

Why are dental implants so much cheaper in Mexico?

Lower labor, rent and lab costs — not cheaper implants. Los Algodones clinics place the same Straumann, Nobel Biocare and Osstem systems used in the US, so you're paying less for the same hardware and a dentist's time.

Is Los Algodones safe for dental work?

It's the densest dental-tourism cluster in the world — 300+ clinics in a few walkable blocks, a short walk from the Arizona border, many run by US-trained dentists. As anywhere, vet the specific clinic: check credentials, the implant brand, and a written quote before you pay.

What does the Mexico implant price include?

It depends on the clinic, and that is the single most expensive thing to get wrong. Most Los Algodones clinics publish a headline figure for the implant post ALONE, with the abutment and crown billed separately — so a $900 quote can become $1,600 by the time you have a tooth. The range on this page counts only clinics whose published price covers the finished tooth. Ask every clinic, in writing, whether the number includes the abutment and the crown. Bone grafts and sinus lifts are extra everywhere.
